"From the very beginning, Zoe took the time to get to know us as individuals - our aspirations and concerns for those early weeks as a new family. She tailored her support to each of us, and her thoughtful, personalized care became a cornerstone of our first six weeks postpartum. She quickly became our lifeline, seamlessly blending education, humor, emotional support, and practical assistance."

Ready to get started?

  • What is a postpartum doula?
A postpartum doula offers support to families as they welcome and adjust to life with a newborn. Though this may typically focus on the physical, emotional, or psychological support and care of the birthing parent, every member of the family is going through a shift in their identity and role (including the newborn!). Because of this, I strongly believe in working with everyone in the family to ensure everyone finds the support they need in this adjustment period.
  • How is a postpartum doula different from a nanny?
As a nanny, my care focuses on the newborn or toddler's development and enjoyment of their day. As a doula, I am instead focused on ensuring the FAMILY is developing by working to educate and support you as you move through this new stage of life. By the end of our time together, I want you to feel confident in your choices as you continue to parent a new little one. If during our time together you choose to look for a nanny I am more than happy to share my resources and experience to help you find a perfect fit for your family.
  • Do we need a nighttime or daytime doula?
Nighttime care prioritizes rest for the family, whereas daytime care gives more opportunities for education, hands on support for the birthing partner, resource sharing, etc. I know it can be difficult to predict what you might need in the future, so I always have us make an "ideal world" plan and talk about what might happen if anything changes. Because I prioritize working with 1-2 families at a time, I typically have the ability to adjust shifts if needed. If there is ever a time I can accommodate a change request, I will connect you with another doula in the community that can!
  • How do we pick a doula?
There are so many amazing doulas out there it can be easy to get overwhelmed! I believe the most important thing is finding someone you truly trust and look forward to spending time with. Experience and knowledge is valuable, but you will be inviting someone into your home at a vulnerable time and it is important you feel safe and put at ease!
  • What if you get sick or if baby comes early/late?
If there is ever any reason I am unable to make it to a shift, I will do everything I can to help you find another doula I know and trust to provide backup care. In those situations, I update the doula with your care plan, information, and handle all of the logistics so you don't need to stress! I discuss current my sickness protocol with each family to ensure we are aligned and keeping each other safe. I will always communicate any risks or illness I am experiencing and expect the same!
  • Do you offer reduced rates?
I believe that postpartum support should be accessible to everyone. If you are interested in receiving care, but feel it is outside of your current budget, please still reach out. I am happy to work with you to either find a way to support you directly or refer you to someone that meets your needs.
  • Where do you work?
I am based in Seattle, and offer support for families mostly within a 30 minute drive from my house.
